Time to Begin

I have well and truly launched myself into this blogging business by signing up to Bindu Wiles‘ 21.5.800 project…albeit a few days in. The challenge is to write 800 words and complete five days of yoga a week for 21 days. Oh yes. Nowt like pushing the boundaries to get things moving.

I happened upon Bindu’s fabulous blog after link-hopping (a term I’ve coined for when you follow one interesting link which leads to another – and another – and, well, another!) and it was all in perfect, divine timing as I was well in need of that final push to get this blog up and running after more than a year of stifling procrastination. An encouraging tweet or two from Bindu later and I was signed up and ready to roll.

Er, 5-days of yoga? A week?

Ok, hold up a sec. Let it be known that I’m no yoga connoisseur, and if truth be told my limbs often feel stiffer than my Nan’s starched shirts. While I dream of being able to fling my kneecaps behind my neck, I know I’d snap like a twig if I even gave the idea too much thought, and so I was very relieved (and grateful) that Bindu suggested the Savasana as an option for the yoga part of the challenge. Although I have done a few yoga classes in the past, I wasn’t familiar with this pose, but from the description of it, I’m very much looking forward to giving it a whirl. I’ll post my experiences of how I get on…
